To all friends, readers and followers of Ikners.com

Our loving, kind and generous husband and father George, passed away on the 25/12/2012 while on a holiday to Uluru, Australia with his daughter (Natasha), son (Nicholas) and wife (Sylvia). This tragedy has come as a shock to our entire family and words can’t express how much we will miss his larger than life presence in our lives.

George would always put his wife and children before himself. He was the one who would stay late and watch over us if we were ever in hospital or sick at home. He was the man we would turn to for comfort when we were unsure of something or grieving for the loss of another family member.

He also had a sharp and often dark sense of humour that will be dearly missed around the house. You couldn’t go a day without him making some hilarious remarks about corrupt regimes, establishments or public figures. There is no doubt that there are those of you who can see this in some of the posts he has made on his website.

This website is a clear indication of what George stood for; Peace, love, forgiveness, justice and  exposing those who take advantage of others. These ideals have resonated with his family and friends and I am sure the same can be said for those who read and follow his website. He was never one to keep quiet in the face of the suffering and/or misfortune of others. George would always be there to peacefully confront any opposition to justice in any way that he could.

George, our father and loving husband, will always be in our hearts. He is an irreplaceable member of our family and there will be a long road to healing the pain inside of us. He always spoke highly of his family and how proud he was of us. We can reciprocate that sentiment and say the same of him.

We will always love you George and you will forever be in our hearts and in our memories, may you rest in peace.

To all his followers, we wish you a Merry Christmas and as George would put it, ‘Keep fighting the good fight.’

With love, Nicholas, Sylvia and Natasha.

Dear Sylvia, Natasha and Nicholas, I have only just returned from holiday to find this extraordinary news. I feel so sad, no George to shake me up, no leads to beautiful photography, no more Ikners in my mail box, he will be so missed by me and no doubt by many, many others. I am so sorry for your enormous loss.

My condolences and those of the Palestinians in Jerusalem and Palestine for the loss of George. May he be rewarded for his principles and beliefs and may his memory live through his family and friends.

Now is a time for grieving but I look forward to regaling people with stories about George for the rest of my life. He will not be forgotten.
