It appears that even Israel has admitted to the fact that there are almost one thousand lawsuits that have been filed against Israeli people for war crimes. The Israelis interpret this as a continuing effort to deligitimise Israel. It is one thing to claim that someone is out to get you. It is entirely another matter to keep saying that, if or when the claims prove to be substantially true and correct. In the end it becomes a war of words and claims. The unfortunate part is the totally unnecessary suffering of both the Israeli population and those affected, killed or devastated by actions taken by Israel.
When you start with countries like Israel and and the United States doing their best to bury the Goldstone Report. And then add avid Israel supporters weighing in, like Rudd and perhaps more recently Gillard, their really is no limit to the number of ways reports like Goldstone and opinions that are not pro Israeli can be stifled and snuffed out. The fear of mentioning the Israel in discussions about the Middle East, has reached epidemic proportons.
